History:
The Arabian is one of the most beautiful of all the horse breeds and is also the oldest.
Head:
The head of the Arabian is unforgettable and unmistakable.  The head is short, the face is pronouncedly concave or dished, and the nostrils and eyes are very large.  Their small ears are fine and sometimes curve inward.  Arabians have a shield-shaped buldge, called a jibbah, that extends from their ears to their nasal bone.
Height:
The usual height of an Arabian is between 14.2 and 15hh.
Temperament:
The Arabian is courageous and fiery, but this horse also has an extremely gentle nature.
Color:
Arabians come in bay, chestnut, black, and gray.

A very distinctive characteristic of the Arabian is where the head meets the neck.  Because of this arched curve, Arabians can turn their head freely in all directions.
