Quarter Horses are the first all-American breed. It was first bred in Virginia and its supporters say that it is "the most popular horse in the world." The first settlers in America, used Quarter Horses to haul lumber and round-up cattle.
Body:
Quarter Horses are very strong and muscular horses. The Quarter Horse is great for sprinting very fast over short distances.
Height:
Quarter Horses stand between 15 and 16hh.
Head:
The Quarter Horse has a prety short and wide head, with a smal muzzle and a shallow, firm mouth.
Temperament:
The Quarter Horse will probably be one of the most compashionate horses you will ever come across. They are also very calm and very caring.
Color:
The most common color for a Quarter Horse is chestnut but any solid color, such as bay, brown, palimino, liver-chestnut, black, and dun, occur often.
