History:
Don horses lived in herds on the steppe pastures.  They would scrape away snow in the winter to eat the frozen grass underneath.  Dons were born to fend for themselves.
Head:
The head of a Don is medium sized with a straight profile.
Color:
A Don's most common colors are chestnut and brown, often with a golden sheen, but bay does also occur.
Height:
Dons stand at about 15.3hh but they can sometimes be taller.
Temerament:
Dons are tough horses and adapt easily to any kind of climate.  Dons can be very restricted and rough, so treat them kindly and with respect and you could have a life long friend.
