History:
The original name of the American Saddlebred was the Kentucky Saddler. Americans used American Saddlebreds in the early 19th century for: farm tasks, elegance, comfortable riding, and to pull a carrage.
Head:
The American Saddlebred's small ears are always alert, the eyes are spaced well enought apart, and the nostrils are wide and open on a well-shaped muzzle.
Height:
The average height of an American Saddlebred is between 15 and 16hh, but some can be a little more.
Temperament:
These horses are extremely attractive horses and are self-controlled. They do not normally misbehave unless unbroken.
Color:
Bay, chestnut, blacks, grays, and paliminos occur the most often, but roans ocasionally do appear on American Saddlebreds.
